You’re not alone—and that’s exactly why we farm the way we do.

🧑‍🌾 Farmer’s Solutions

  • Ditch the Standard American Diet: Our grandparents thrived on clean, traditionally prepared foods. We’re here to help you return to those roots with pasture-raised meats, raw dairy, and time-honored preparation methods.

  • Get Informed: We highly encourage you to look into the education from the Weston A. Price Foundation and explore other educational outlets so you can understand why real food matters.

  • Find Real Food: You can’t find most of this at the grocery store. Knowing your farmer is the only way to truly know your food.

  • Food Chain Issues: Supporting local farms strengthens your community and keeps your family’s food secure—even when store shelves look empty.

  • Food Security: Our subscriptions, easy online ordering, and pick up locations guarantee your supply and let you build a direct, steady relationship with us.

🙌 A Real-Life Testimony

Hi I am Sara, your friendly neighborhood customer service person at Little Captain Creek Farm. I was raised on the standard American diet. Meaning I ate lots of processed food, refined grains, and convenience meals with very little nutrient density. Before I ever became pregnant, I was already struggling with illness and tried to heal myself through vegan and vegetarian diets, but those actually left me even more depleted.

So, by the time I entered my first pregnancy, my body was already in a depleted state, and I believe that’s why I developed Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). I struggled through that pregnancy — and even my second — still believing the mainstream narrative that a plant-based diet was healing. Eventually, I found a different way.

That’s when I discovered the Weston A. Price Foundation and began changing my diet from plant-based to animal-based, traditional foods. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve been on a healing journey by learning more, rebuilding my body, and unlearning false beliefs about how we heal. Now, I’m pregnant with my third baby, and I do NOT have HG like I did in my first two pregnancies. Despite being 15 years older, my body is handling this pregnancy better because I am well nourished on a traditional, animal-based diet.

Two resources that changed everything for me were the Weston A. Price Foundation and Sally Fallon’s book The Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care. Every body is different and every woman is different, but we can all make conscious decisions to buy from local farms and eat the way the Bible tells us to. For me, food freedom is part of God’s sovereignty.

If you’re on the fence about this lifestyle, take it one step at a time. Be willing to learn, and know that mistakes along the way are okay. The journey toward real food and local farms is worth it.

We’d also love to hear about your health journey! Add a comment below and share your testimony.

Why We Process On-Farm

At Little Captain Creek Farm, we believe how an animal is treated, from birth to harvest, matters deeply. Processing is not something we rush past or hide from. It is an important part of farming, and we believe it should be done with care, respect, legality, and transparency. We choose on-farm processing whenever possible because it aligns with our responsibility as stewards of God’s creation.

Our New Years Resolution & Looking Ahead

As we step into a new year, we want to begin with a simple and heartfelt thank you, to both customers and to God, who blesses us with another year. We are grateful for each of you who have shared in our farm journey this past year. Thank you for trusting us with your table and for supporting the work we love to do. Your faith and encouragement keep our mission strong.
