Creamy Beef & Potato Casserole

Directions

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 4 cups peeled, thin-sliced potatoes
  • ¾ cup raw cow cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1½ teaspoons salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish with butter or tallow.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Spread the cooked beef evenly over the potatoes.
  5. Top with the remaining potatoes.
  6. Pour the cream evenly over the casserole.
  7. Dot the top with butter.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes, until potatoes are tender and the top is lightly golden.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
